Water Infrastructure Built for a Railroad Division Point
The Frisco railroad rebuilt Villa Grove after 1902 specifically because the Embarras River could supply the water a division point needed, platting a new townsite with repair shops on 260 acres. Village water infrastructure grew up alongside that railroad-driven need for a reliable water supply.
